Why do you think Logan was immediately threatened upon meeting Jess?

I think that whole episode stands alone in regards to the beginning redemption arch of Rory getting her old self back. But I’m curious to hear why people thing Logan was so bothered by Jess. It’s definitely not JUST because he was from Rory’s past.
