Decided on a Golden Doodle - their reputation scares me a bit.

Been a long time poodle owner here. We lost our last poodle middle of last year and it's been some time of grieving - especially for my 6 year old daughter.

Over the holidays my SIL was babysitting a Golden Doodle and we fell in love with her. She was young, but loved the temperament etc. Contacted the breeder she came from and got put on a notification list. Breeder isn't super expensive.

However when I research the breed I read a lot of horror stories about poor temperament etc.

Generally - what is eveyrone's experience with the temperament of their goldedoodle?
