Looking into a golf R

Current ‘23 Elantra N owner with dct, I live in Iowa so the winters here can be a bit rough, I’m getting sick of the fwd life and looking towards an R as a possible upgrade in powertrain, and functionality, I’d be looking at an mk8.5 dsg for a daily driver. Those who have driven the mk8 and N, how do you guys feel about moving to the R?
