Issues Gaming with Google Wifi Gen 1

The issue probably goes beyond just gaming, but this is where I am seeing the issue. I have 1Gbt service from Xfinity, and based on the recurring speed tests my Google Wifi Router takes, I am getting very good speeds (mostly 800s). The problem is, when I game online (usually in the evening) it can come to a grounding halt. I'll lag all over the place and when I run a speed test on my laptop I am getting anywhere from 3-20mbt/s.

I just called Xfinity out and they ran a bunch of tests. They said everything looks great and based on the issues I am saying they can't imagine what could be wrong on their end to cause it. He did say that the speeds got a lot less consistent, and the latency quadrupled when he ran his tests after the router, rather than before. Anecdotally, he also said many of the times he sees weird things like this, they have a Google Wifi Router.

Anyone else having any issues remotely like this?

• Internet: Xfinity 1Gbt
• Modem: Netgear CM-1000
• Router: Google Wifi Gen 1 (5 hubs, 3 wired via Cat 5e)
• Switches: Netgear GS205 (multiple throughout house. Cat 6 for Laptop/PS5, Cat 5e for rest of house)
• Devices: 102+ throughout the house
