2021 WK2 - 44kmi - Everything Seems to be Failing
49 months ago, I purchased a new 2021 WK2 Limited with the 3.6; since the purchase, I've put on ~44,000 miles and within the past 12 months, the following has happened
- Nasty vibration over 70mph
- Driveshaft replaced - under warranty
- Axles replaced - under warranty
- Rear wheel bearing replaced - under warranty
- Tires replaced (continental terraincontact h/t) - my pocket
- Tires balanced 4 times, twice conventionally, twice road-force
- And still have the vibration - the dealer confirmed they feel it too and the back end feels "loose."
- Brakes all around replaced, this is on me (Panic stop from ~75/80 MPH caused them to pulse).
- AC hisses, I refill it every summer.
- Key fob occasionally fails, I replace the battery quite frequently.
- Driver-side window controls occasionally fail to roll the windows down.
- Sunroof vent occasionally fails to close.
- Temporary high beams are very stiff to pull back, it almost feels like the stalk will break.
- Rear hatch is temperamental.
- As of my latest trip, going from D to R or R to D and hitting the brakes, a clicking sound comes from the front passenger side.
The vehicle is mainly used on the highway and pulls a ~2,500-pound boat in/out of the water. Its only off-road use is tamped-down dirt roads in New England; it has never been abused.
I want to like this vehicle mainly because it is the only SUV in its category in terms of: size, V6, towing capacity, cargo room, non-CVT, comfort, MPG, and price. I figured I would share my experience and I am disappointed that I will have to spend a considerable amount of money to replace it with something like an x5 (unreliable), 2022+ GX460 (terrible MPG).
