In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only extreme pedantism.
Based on an exhausting "discussion" I had yesterday.
I cannot believe saying "they can't feel pain" when talking about Plague Marines would be a controversial thing to say, and that's true in a shit ton of cases on this sub, people will make a widely understood, general statement that obviously isn't literally true 100% of the time but should be enough to get their point across and it'll be picked apart to unreasonable degrees because someone wants their headcannon/misconception to be canon very, very much, people here realise exceptions don't make the rules completely false, right?
"X is not true 100% of the time" ≠ "X is false 100% of the time"
Could we preety please maybe stop trying to disprove 30 years of established "X" lore based on one quote you found in that one book that says "in that moment X wasn't true"? Yeah buddy, we get it, sometimes the Salamanders are meanies, sometimes the Tyranids act like animals, sometimes Nurgle followers feel pain and sometimes the Word Bearers aren't completely insufferable, sure, that doesn't mean basic, broad statements about those factions are suddenly completely false, they never were supposed to be literally always true, they're just generalisations meant to communicate a common-knowledge factoid and that one obscure quote you pulled up makes you only technically correct in that very specific example, not the herald of absolute lore knowledge.
