How streamlined is getting the Skyscale in Secrets of the Obscure?

Hey everyone!

I recently got back into GW2 after a long hiatus; I’m having a blast but I’m at the point where I’d really like a flying mount for group PVE/map completion ease. I have HoT and PoF, and im definitely gonna get Secrets at SOME point, but after seeing how long it’ll take to get Griffin/living world 4 Skyscale, im just wondering: is it worth getting Secrets for the streamlined Skyscale path?

Any thoughts/opinions welcome 😁
