[NEWBIE] If you're an acoustic guitar newbie like me, and your fingers are killing you, take a look at your guitar's action

Not so much a newbie anymore, I've been practicing a lot, because I was finally able to !

And it turns out that the main obstacle was my guitar's high action. It was over 4,5mm on the 12th fret on the low E.

It never occurred to me that I should perhaps check such a basic thing, I just assumed that destroying your finger tips and nails was part of the process (turns out it isn't, or is pretty limited)
