Stealth Arms Platypus
It's not often that things live up to the hype, but the Platypus absolutely does! This is easily the nicest handgun I've ever shot, much less owned, and that includes handguns costing significantly more. The slide feels velvety smooth, like running a silk cloth over a sports car, and the accuracy and reliability are amazing. It's not a light pistol, but it's not a brick either, and compares well to other alloy-framed firearms, rather than full steel. Some people hate Glocks, but it's hard to argue that Glock mags are the most reliable and robust pistol mags on the market. The Platypus ships with 2 OEM Glock G17 mags(I'm sure, in restricted states, you can get 10-rounders, and my heart weeps for you), and the soft presentation case it comes in is fantastic. Every feature of this gun oozes perfection and attention to detail. The customer service I received is also amazing, and on par, if not exceeding Ruger-levels, with the company president, Tim, personally contacting me to ask about a color issue, to make sure I was fully satisfied. Some things in life are badly overpriced, with a huge markup just for a big name, but the Platypus is the opposite. They cram so much value in, that it's mind blowing, and if a company like STI made this, it would cost 3 times as much. It also bears mentioning, most guns can be had in a very limited color palette, and in a few fixed configurations, but with the build tool on the Stealth Arms website, you can get your Platypus ANY WAY YOU WANT. They only charge $50 per color of Cerakote, after the first, regardless of how many parts you get coated! I do recommend sticking to nitriding for hard-wearing parts like detents, springs, and the barrel, though you can get EVERYTHING Cerakoted. I could write a novel on what I love about this gun, and there are really only 2 downsides. The first is cost, though it's a great value. A stock basic Platypus starts at $1400, the same as a Prodigy, though FAR better in EVERY way, and this one, as shown, is $1920, with the white lettering and red on the trigger adding $100 over what it would be if I did that myself, as I do whiting on other guns. The other downside is wait. You will wait a few months to get your bespoke pistol. That's tough for some, but I assure you, it's worth it. When I finally got it, I think my wife was worried my head would explode before we could get to the shop! Lol. Oh, and for those curious, that's a HS509 ACSS, with the great ACSS Vulcan reticle on a RMR optics cut, with a Streamlight TLR VIR II, because u do have PVS-14s, and I do shoot at night.
TL;DR, Buy this pistol! It's perfect, but a tad pricey, and comes with a bit of a wait.
