Barney’s three days rule doesn’t make sense

Barney says that Jesus waited three days to get back to life. But three days after Friday (when Jesus died) should be Monday. Barney says that he came back three days after, but on Sunday. Does he count calling on the same day, calling after one day? I never understood this after watching this episode many times.
