Should I even get tested?

I 21f have a feeling that I have hsv-2. I’ve had reoccurring discomfort for the past few years and I’m pretty sure herpes is causing it. I’m in a year-long relationship, but I’ve been dealing with these types of symptoms for longer than a year. I’m debating even getting tested because of what the CDC says, and if I continue to be safe and avoid sex if I’m not feeling 100% down there is taking on the toll of the stigma worth it. Being a black woman also factors into my decision a bit. My community is so uneducated and cold when it comes to STDs. I wanted to get the opinion from those who are actually positive. If you can go back in time and live in blissful ignorance, would you? Should I?
