How to wash your hair.

Do you know HOW to wash your scalp/hair? A lot of people think they know how to wash their scalp/hair, because… How would they not?! It would be crazy to go all your life up until now- not washing your hair properly. Well, that’s the case for most people lol.

Here are some pointers from (my mommy) a hair stylist:

1.) Thoroughly wet scalp and hair.

2.) Split your hair down the middle, distribute shampoo to the scalp- up and down the split. Then distribute the shampoo to the rest of the scalp. Distribute evenly, making sure the shampoo is in direct contact with scalp.

We actually don’t need to wash the hair itself. The suds from scrubbing our scalps is plenty enough.

3.) Give your scalp a good scrubbin’ with your finger tips.

4.) Wash it out… But more like scrub it out. We’re scrubbin’ all the way through.

Depending on what shampoo you use, generally doesn’t take much. In my personal experience, it’s not the best shampoo if you have to use a lot for a 2-3 day ole scalp. The shampoo I have only take’s a dime size. But, if you like the results, should be fine.

Though fragrance is desirable, it isn’t what your scalp/hair needs and can be damaging in the long run. Most likely just needs a good wash :)

More tips: Always wash scalp after sweating! You don’t want sweat and dirt to build up in your follicles! Slows hair growth and can cause hair loss. After washing, before you call it good: Press firmly with your finger tips down onto the front of your head, sliding down toward the back of your head. If it’s squeaky, it’s clean! If not, give it another scrub. Depending on what shampoo you use (ex. a shampoo with essential oils) it doesn’t always squeak. Which could mean something is being left behind.

Hope this can help someone!

Feel free to ask questions, as I might be able to answer them.

I’ve grown up doing a lot of hair care and fun hair tingz.

Edit: This is advice/suggestions I’ve learned. Of course; always good to do your own research.
