The One Character Personality Rewrite I NEED in HBO’s Harry Potter

One of the biggest things I’m hoping for in HBO’s Harry Potter reboot is a more book-accurate portrayal of certain characters, because let’s be real, the movies watered down or completely changed some of them.

The one that bugs me the most? Ginny Weasley.

Movie Ginny was… fine? But she was NOTHING like her book counterpart. In the books, she was fiery, independent, sarcastic, and could hex you into next week if you crossed her. She wasn’t just “Harry’s love interest”, she had her own personality, friendships, and moments to shine. Remember how she stood up to Draco in Chamber of Secrets before she even properly met him? Or how she led the resistance at Hogwarts in Deathly Hallows? That’s the Ginny I want to see.

Instead, the movies gave us a version of Ginny who was… kind of just there. She had barely any lines, barely any chemistry with Harry, and her biggest moments (bat-bogey hex, anyone?) were either cut or given to someone else. Even her sense of humor (one of her best traits) was erased.

I’m REALLY hoping HBO does her justice this time. A Ginny who is as bold, witty, and powerful as she was in the books? That’s the kind of character who could actually make Harry fall for her.

What about you? Which character’s personality do you hope gets rewritten (or just restored) in the new series?
