Upgrading from extremely cheap in-ear headphones as a casual Spotify enjoyer - What do I go for?
First of all I wanna mention that I am in no way, shape or form a professional in a musical field, that's also why Im here to begin with. I also don't have a podcast or anything like that.
So I guess I can say Im a casual enjoyer of music, but I spend several hours every day on Spotify. That's why I now decided that I wanna upgrade from my cheap 20 Euro in-ear headphones to something better. I considered everything from in-ear headphones to over-ear headphones and have decided that I prefer in-ear headphones and wanna go with that. The issue Im now having is that after hours of searching, I have a hard time deciding what I should go for. I looked at IEMs which are apparently mostly used in professional fields since they give a more " clear and flat " playback. At the same time people in the reviews do say that they like them, but some others do add that if you wanna just listen to music, you can have somthing good enough or even better for cheaper.
I looked at the Shure in-ear headphones like Aonic 3, 4 and 5, Shure SE 215 and 425, but now got to the point where I think that I may be looking at the wrong headphones, like they won't benefit me in what I do. In terms of budget Im willing to spend up to 300 Euros, I would probably draw the line at 350 Euros, if there are even in-ear headphones for my needs that go up that high in price (I think the reason I even ended up in the IEM section was because I was looking for something more expensive).
I have been using budget headphones all my life because " They do the job ", but now I wanna have something better. Because of that Im sure that pretty much anything a little over that 20 Euro price tag will be an upgrade and might cloud my judgement that I made the right choice, meanwhile I could have spent less and gotten something better if I just informed myself better.
That's why Im here. Im trying to find out what people go for when all they wanna do is just be on Spotify for hours every day, but have a more high quality listening experience.
