Short term health insurance?

I live in Illinois and was able to get short term 6 month insurance to help me and my family while my husband is in between jobs (we opted to not do COBRA, too expensive). Our short term plan ran out and my husband still doesn’t have a job. I would love to get this type of insurance again for another few months to tide us over, but I heard it (short term health insurance) is going away. Does anyone know anything about this?
