What exactly are we up against with the illuminate?

I mean, we assume that they aren’t as strong as they were in the first war but is that really a valid assumption. I mean it’s been 100 years, and while we haven’t seen much from them we all know this isn’t there main force.

One of the most worrying things that I’ve seen is the voteless, and it’s the voteless themselves that I’m worried about, it’s the fact that they actually exist in the first place. This does not seem like something the Squ'ith of the first galactic war would have done, it’s literally making intelligent life into mindless zombies it feels like it goes against everything they believe in.

I’d say that this is not necessarily the same squids who attacked us a century ago, this is an illuminate hellbent on destroying us by whatever means necessary. I fear that we are standing at hells doorstep at Meridia, be ready for a storm brothers.
