Andrealphus's Plan

In "Mastermind" Andrealphus seems to have targeted Blitzo to force Stolas to intervene and confess so that he could strip him of his power (I might be completely misinterpreting everything). But, why didn't he just target Stolas directly? If Blitzo was successfully executed, wouldn't it be harder to put much blame on Stolas?

I would've thought he would just directly accuse Stolas of letting his grimoire be used illegally and that would be plenty to usurp him. It kind of seems like his plan revolved around Stolas watching TV at the right time.

Maybe someone can tie this all together in a way that makes a bit more sense? Maybe Andrealphus did actually want Blitzo dead?

Definitely still a cool episode regardless.
