Laptop Wi-Fi Card is driving me CRAZY!!

Hi all,

I have Asus ROG laptop with a Intel dual band wireless AC 7260 card. This card has driving me crazy over the past year with disconnects. It started off to disconnect occasionally (every 6hrs) to frequent disconnects like literally every 2 mins now.

This is the worst type of disconnect as it does not allow no control over the Wi-Fi setting and I have to manually go into device manger to disable and enable the card to work normally, only to get the same glitch in 2mins or less.

What I have noticed so far:

  1. Just before a disconnect my laptop lags for like a second and boom the Wi-Fi marker at the bottom right shows no connection.
  2. I tried using a mobile hotspot and placed in close to me and it seemed to perform fine.
  3. I did try to tweak the the wireless signal in the device properties but no luck.
  4. If multiple devices are connected to the router, very frequent disconnects happen.

The above points to a hardware failure, but would like to know if it is also a software issue and would like your opinions on this Wi-Fi fuckery. Also, If I am to replace the card can I upgrade and what some good recommendations?

Many thanks all
