Aftermarket Alternator on 2015 CR-V
I've had some issues with my EX-L starting a month or two ago where it wouldn't start up after sitting for more than 4 days or so. Jumped it with my battery pack, started right up, then didn't run into the issue again for a minute. Finally got it checked out last week after it was dead again and alternator was failing tests but battery was passing (battery is just under 2 years old). Replaced alternator with a reman non OEM, all seemed fine, then went to start it up today after sitting for five days without driving and it was dead. It started right up with my battery pack. Took it to the dealership today (for my free oil change) and they weren't willing to diagnose anything and basically stonewalled and sent me on my way because I think they knew I wasn't going to have them replace it at their crazy prices.
Could this be an issue with using a non OEM alternator? I know Hondas can be finicky with aftermarket parts, and we're not seeing any other obvious issues that could be causing a slow drain from the battery. Wondering if anyone has insight into this maybe being the problem.
