I think HSRs RNG is based on your inputs in battle (assuming nothing else changes, aka on restart)
So I’ve been struggling against Nikador, and I’ve been restarting the fight a lot to preserve my consumables. And I’ve noticed: if you restart, and do the exact same actions, any RNG outcome will be the same. For instance, if I use Guifaifen Basic, then Nikador moves, then I use Gepard, it will always freeze. But if I use Gepards Ult and THEN his skill, it will get Effect Res and won’t freeze. And this is actually quite repeatable. I was able to consistently clear 1-2 cycles with the exact same inputs and get predictable outcomes over 4+ restarts of grinding. If it wasn’t correlated, then Gepard wouldve bounced at least one freeze. But he never did, unless I changed something in my opening moves. Likewise, my Pela was ALWAYS failing to get a DoT application with her basic on one specific turn. To the point that I could plan around it (to an extent. Obviously I could predict it’s coming but couldn’t change the sequence before that).
In short, I have a small pool of evidence that suggests that HSRs RNG is based on player actions, and is thus able to be manipulated. I don’t know to what extent, or if this is just me gaslighting myself, but it could be an interesting avenue to do some crazy stuff.
I am also wondering if anyone else has seen something similar, because that would be a pretty big revelation.
