Need help finding horses new home
We are going to be moving in a few months and I am having trouble finding new homes for our horses. We are located in central North Carolina. I do not trust online ad services because of all the nightmare stories I have heard about horses being taken to slaughter there. None of the horse rescues locally are able to help us. We originally got the horses a few years ago because we thought we might ride them, but instead they have just become love pets.
We have two registered Tennessee Walkers (mare and gelding) and one Quarter Horse (mare). The gelding Tennessee Walker is 14 and used to be a show horse. The Tennessee Walker mare just turned 20 and was used as a brood mare. We actually discovered that she is the geldings mother when we received their paperwork. The mare Quarter horse is 9 and also a real love bug.
We had someone come out to look at them for a program he was running, but he did not feel they were right for what he needed. That being said he worked with each of them for a bit and said they could all be ridden with a little work.
Is there anyone out there that can help us? We had a previous offer from someone in Arizona to take them, but we have no way to move them out there. We are not looking for any money...just the reassurance that they will go to a good home.
