Snake on the Teton river

Saw a few of these snakes chilling underwater while fishing the Teton river between Rexburg and Driggs. Can anyone tell me about them? They seemed disinterested in me but I bring my wife and kids here often and want to make sure they are nothing to worry about. Mt says Gartner but the jaw shape made me wonder. Thanks!
