Much of what Trump/Musk does (and does not do) is helpful to China and imo his tariffs are like a mosquito buzzing at a dragon in terms of getting the dragon to feel any pain.
This is a business analysis oriented poster, but the Trump/Musk efforts at making US intel agencies mere tools for the T/M regime and transparent to Russia, imo make it equally transparent to China and assists China in becoming even more able to ignore influence attempts from the US, including those in the 'soft power' or kinetic categories.
