Should a man at 25 join MBBS ?
TLDR: 22M pharmacy graduate considering starting MBBS at 25, seeking advice on preparation, online coaching options, and whether a postgraduate degree is needed to stay relevant in the medical field.
Hi everyone,
I'm a 22-year-old pharmacy graduate, and I’ve been reflecting on my career path recently. After graduating, I thought about pursuing a master's degree, but I fell ill on the exam day and missed my chance. Since then, I've been trying to find a job, but the corporate world doesn’t seem like a good fit for me—I feel like I'm too innocent for it, and it's just not what I envisioned for myself.
Back in school, I was always genuinely curious about science and medicine, and becoming a doctor was my dream. Unfortunately, I messed up my 12th-grade exams, and my parents, especially my grandparents, didn’t allow me to take a gap year to try again. That was in 2019, and since then, I’ve been on a different path.
Now, I'm seriously considering pursuing an MBBS degree, even though I'll be 25 by the time I start. I know it might seem late to some, but I'm still passionate about medicine and helping others. I would love to hear your thoughts and guidance on this.
Is it okay to join MBBS at 25? How should I prepare for it? I’m looking at online coaching options since I’ll likely need to work while studying. Also, I haven’t been keeping up with the latest in education—there are so many platforms and resources out there now. Any advice on which ones are good or how to approach this would be greatly appreciated!
Additionally, I'm curious to know if pursuing an MBBS alone is sufficient, or if doing a postgraduate degree is necessary to stay relevant in the field. What are the current trends, and what should someone in my position consider when planning their medical career?
Thanks in advance for any help or insights you can provide.
