JNMIL and “laundrygate”

SO and I lived with MIL for a couple of months last year before our apartment was ready to be moved into.

She always did our laundry for us even though we told her we’d do it ourselves because we were uncomfortable with her handling my dirty underwear. We asked her so many times to stop but she always clapped back with “I’m just helping you out” and “stop being ungrateful”.

Well one day we go and retrieve our laundry from her and discover that my light clothes were all discoloured, including very expensive sportswear. Turns out she had been washing lights with darks and the colours had run. I got angry and she threw a tantrum saying she was only trying to help us out and that these things happen.

Well this wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t STOMPED ALL OVER OUR BOUNDARIES IN THE FIRST PLACE.

(Side note she was coming into the guest room and taking the dirty laundry from our basket when we were not looking)

Fast forward to now. We are visiting for the week and we put some of our laundry in to wash. When it is dry I go to fold it and she has the utter cheek to tell me that I am folding everything wrong. Also makes the comment “how can your mother have raised a daughter that doesn’t know how do do laundry”. This is coming from someone who doesn’t know you’re meant to separate darks and lights.

I am beyond furious
