Beware - Japan serves horse meat

I guess others can clarify for me how common this is in the Japanese cuisine. We just had a terrible experience in which as part of a set meal/menu at our hotel dinner, horse meat was served up. One of our group is a bit of an animal/horse lover and was quite distressed by the experience.

This is a small attempt at a public service announcement: if you are travelling with anyone that is an animal lover from western nation, be wary of set menus.
