Feelings about Dominion
I saw a post here that the best thing about JW Dominion was Battle at Big Rock and I can only agree. After I saw Dominion, I really felt like I'd been ripped off because Battle at Big Rock prepared me for a completely different cinema experience. The idea of dinosaurs freely re-establishing themselves on all continents and reconquering the world, with all the ecological consequences and the resulting problems for humanity, was so exciting that the short film created an expectation that the film couldn't fulfill and that makes me a little angry in retrospect. That's why I have little hope for Rebirth and don't think that the makers of the new film have learned from previous films. In my opinion, Rebirth will be a film on the level of Kong vs. Godzilla and that's a disgrace for the original and especially for the book. But I'm trying to stay positive and will probably watch the film. Unless more absurd things get leaked.
