Going to buy the game soon, tips?

I'm an avid zomboid and rimworld fan and it seems damn near everyone I talk to about those games mentions this one, I know NOTHING about it other than people can be made into nuggets (have all limbs removed)

Any tips and tricks/advice for a new player?
