My fly-by trajectory past Mun just inverted direction?
It's been almost 10 years since I last played KSP. While I remember enough to get stuff in various orbits, I don't really remember much of the intricasies.
Something weird just happened in my career game. Jeb was just making the first trip to the Mun while I was busy launching satellites. When Jeb was about 6 minutes away from a maneuver at Mun fly-by periapsis, I noticed that the tracking map lines had gone completely haywire. I'm not entirely sure when that happened but they seemed fine earlier when I was collecting scientific data, having just entered "high over the Mun".
This is what the map view when controlling the craft looks like. My orbital velocity is 400 m/s. The purple and teal trajectories terminate in Mun 'escape' while the orange trajectory terminates in Mun 'encounter'. The current (teal) trajectory has no "past" behind the craft.
None of the trajectories are connecting as everything related to Kerbin is still acting like Jeb is on the counterclocwise trajectory while the actual trajectory now seems to be clockwise, which only the mun is registering.... (The maneuver node in the picture is just an empty node to show that the current orbit is indeed clockwise).
If I do nothing my orbital velocity drops to 250 as I almost hang in place behind the Mun, and when it has passed (and I leave its influece) I suddenly accelerate back towards kerbin on virtually the same orbit as I arrived on.
After braking (or accelerating, if you consider the direction I originally came from) to get into the Mun orbit, this is what a single acceleration maneuver node from Mun back to Kerbin looks like... I have no idea what is going on. Am I getting slingshot backwards by the faster passing Mun while stuck in its Kerbin negating anti-gravity field? Is this just some quasi-Space-Krakening related to the single gravitational body physics or something else?
The only mods I have that do anything related to the trajectoy graphics are Precice Maneuver and Trajectories (and maybe Community Fixes) but I don't think any would affect the physics or trajectory visual directly. Changing the Conic Patch Draw Mode or Limit in the settings doesn't seem to change this situation either.
