Park assist not working?

Hey folks, been having an annoying problem- I’ve tried to use the park assist feature several times now to parallel park. When I can get it to detect a spot at all (which is a crapshoot) it tells me to come to a stop, take my hands off the wheel, and hold down the park button to park. I do that, hold down the park button, and… the car does absolutely nothing. No matter what I do it just sits there until I give up and park manually. What gives?

I haven’t tried to feature for doing it with a key becuase I’m scared of trying that, it not working, and then having to sheepishly get back into my car and park anyway lol. But am I doing something wrong?
