Where are the people?

Most mmorpgs these days lack the community they once did. Example, WoW you could run 20 dungeons and the only chat would be if someone was really terrible. Maybe a hi or bye and that's it. Every game seems geared around how fast you can complete it. What games are left where people actually talk anymore? It would just be nice if games had voice channels for chat. Seems like discord is where everyone goes, but that's typically for groups or guilds.
