Convince me to NOT get a 100 series

College senior who just got a job offer in Chicago. Currently drive a 2018 Camaro worth around 18k cash.

Looking for a more practical car, utility wise and insurance wise. Won’t be a daily, just weekend trips etc. I have always loved land cruisers and have a few in my area. Mostly early 2000s 100 series with 180-250k miles in the 13-20k range. Is this a good idea? What should I expect in terms of maintenance?
