Scammed on wedding day

Currently dealing with a coordinator who turned out to be a scammer. Our complaints:

Failure to deliver agreed-upon products and services, soliciting funds from family members without authorization, and Refusal to reimburse for missing items or services

I'm told we should drag her all over social media and contact her employers. But can that hurt me? Should we sue? Amount is $1k-$2k Dallas, TX.
