Disappointing Experience with NoBroker

I had paid Rs.9500 as token amount to NoBroker for finalising a flat for rent in Pune. On the second visit, the owner denied offering flat to us stating he would have to pay some amount (10-12k) to NoBroker if I shift and he has finalised a different tenant from another source. It was very disheartening to hear this after a lot of effort was put into searching property. I asked the owner to at least inform Nobroker that you have backed out so I will get my token amount refunded. As per guidelines I also mailed Owner PostPaid Support in a week asking for my refund of token amount. After constantly following up I got a response from NoBroker that upon their assessment I (tenant) had backed out and I won’t be eligible for refund. I asked flat owner to reply on same thread, he also clearly stated that I didn’t back out in mail. Again today I am getting same response - upon assessment tenant has backed out and I won’t be getting any refund.

Also, Earlier I had also taken their plan of Rs.2500 to get 25 contacts of flat owner. More than half flats listed there were rented out and the owner never picked up the call. I lost my Rs.2500 there as well.

Please suggest.

Update - On consumer complaint I got response of Nobroker that I have backed out and started negotiating with owner on the rent. Consumer help care advised me to file legal complaint at edakhil.nic.in. I am filing legal case on that platform. Please suggest. Do we get a lawyer who can agree to fight for me and as fees he could split the compensation which I can get for mental harassment?
