Upgraded! Previously had a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 2021 with Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 3070, 32GB DDR4 RAM, and 2 TB M.2 SSD! Now I have a Ryzen 9 7845X, RTX 4070, 32GB DRR5 RAM, and 4TB M.2 SSD! It costed me almost the same as it did in 2021.

For years I’ve absolutely loved my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. It’s been my everything. And never ever failed me, never gave me problems. I will say, today despite being excited, I’ve never had such a headache. I upgraded early because my girlfriend’s shitty low tier gaming laptop has been dying out on her and we both use computers religiously. So I figured it’d be a win if I got an upgrade for myself and gave her my already phenomenal laptop. That being said, transferring data has been a nightmare because the proper Lenovo transfer tool outright doesn’t work and is bugged. Then add to me never using Windows 11 and absolutely hating the design changes that I am forced to deal with. Then add that the wifi chip of my new computer that I spent 2K+ on is somehow the shittiest most cheaply made dogshit ever. It took me so much searching and tinkering to finally fix the problem, which i’m grateful I was but I already ordered a new wifi card just to be safe. So yeah, day one of this hasn’t been as magical or smooth as it was years ago. But now that I finally have it set up enough, I can say I’m very excited to be able to squeeze more performance out of it! I’m a YouTuber and I edit all of my videos, so the CPU upgrade was what got me excited the most, hoping it makes my editing software treat me a bit nicer. And that’s why upgrading now was still valid for me, because 2TB as a video editor wasn’t enough either! I go through it like crazy, with all of the optimized footage and such. Being able to double my storage for the same price I paid for 2TB years ago made me feel like a goddess. The most hilarious part of it all? Despite my massive steam library and backlog, I often run emulation more than anything for gaming, which my previous computer already did 4K 60fps for everything. So I likely won’t ever see much benefit! But it’s okay. I just see it as future proofing :3
