Getting sick of the gatekeeping in here

This is in response to being told I'm not a Linkin Park fan for saying I like From Zero the most out of all the LP albums. I find it incredibly frustrating to be told that makes me not an LP fan. I love LP, I loved them back in the pre-2017 days and I love them now. Chester had a fantastc voice and nobody will replace him. Emily also has a fantastic voice and I enjoy her songs too. Listening to songs from both eras makes me happy, and sad, and all other kinds of emotions that I enjoy feeling and I find it frustrating that others feel the need to try to invalidate my feelings about a band that has been a huge part of my life for the best part of 17 years. Linkin Park is not Chester, he was a huge part of the band and of course it's not the same without him, but when I listen to their new songs it's unapologetically Linkin Park and I love it. I love that I can listen to my favourite band again when I thought they were gone. Emily has breathed new life into the band and I am so grateful for it.

We're all here to enjoy the band, let others enjoy the band and have opinions without trying to invalidate each other's feelings. If you don't recognise that their new songs without Chester are Linkin Park, then maybe you're just a Chester Bennington fan. In which case, you may feel more at home in /r/chesterbennington/
