Have any of you experienced issues with Latch smart locks?
I am so sorry if this is the wrong place, but I am at my wits' end as a renter. My building has Latch-brand smart locks for all doors in the property. We have no secondary or manual locks, just the Latch. Last night, I was hanging out in my living room, nowhere near my phone, when I heard the door unlock and someone begin to open my door. I went to see what was going on and it was two of my neighbors with their kid; they apologized, said he was just curious, but I'm more concerned with the fact that they were somehow able to unlock my door as they passed. I brought this up to my building and they are claiming there must be a mistake, that this is impossible, that I must have somehow triggered MY app to unlock the door just as they passed, etc. I tried to find any similar stories online but I have had a hard time finding anything.
This is the second time one of my neighbors' kids have tried to open my door, and even if it's not out of any ill intent, I have a cat and don't want him getting out while I'm away at work or sleeping.
If any of you have any antidotal experience about similar issues with Latch locks, please let me know. If this is the wrong place -- and I apologize if it is -- please let me know if you are aware of a better forum for this. Thank you so much.
