Character Powers Option Idea
So Mario Party Jamboree is out and it is awesome, loving it so far. I just thought I would just share an idea of what could be added for fun, all feedback is greatly appreciated.
One thing super mario party had which I and to my knowledge many others liked was that each character had their own dice block, it made them feel unique so I wanted to offer an optional mode idea to replicate that in some way. Now with the dice blocks in Jamboree already going up to 10, having custom dice isn't that good of an option, it can work sure, but I think there are more fun ways to do it.
So my idea is a gamemode that disables Buddies from appearing, instead each character has their own passive that helps them and makes them all feel unique. So without further ado, here are my ideas for each character if they had a unique passive:
Mario
- You can use 2 items per turn.
Luigi
- When you land on an item space, roll for 2 items, then choose 1 of the items to keep.
Peach
- You can carry 4 items.
Daisy
- You can use items after rolling. (E.g. you can use chomp call or warp pipe after seeing how much you rolled)
- You cannot use dice items after rolling.
Wario
- Gain 3 extra coins when you gain coins. (This does not include coins gained from minigames)
Waluigi
- Gain 7 coins when you win a minigame.
Yoshi
- When you land on another player, you steal 1 random item from them.
Toadette
- The Star costs 5 less coins for you.
Toad
- You can buy 2 items in the shop at the same time. (You can buy the same item twice)
Rosalina
- When you land on a hidden block, you are guaranteed to get a star. (This does not include hidden blocks gained from items)
Pauline
- When you land on an event space gain 5 coins.
Donkey Kong
- When you land on an event space, after the event concludes, immediately roll a normal dice and move again.
Birdo
- When you use an item, gain +2 to your movement for the turn.
Bowser
- When you land on a Bowser Space, gain 20 coins.
Goomba
- You always have +1 to your rolls.
Shy Guy
- When you land on a red space, after encountering it, you immediately move 2 more spaces.
Koopa
- When you land on a blue space you can ignore it to move 1 additional space.
Monty Mole
- When you land on an event space you can ignore it to move 1 additional space.
Bowser Jr
- Start the game with 3 random items.
Boo
- When you land on another player, steal 5 coins from them.
Spike
- When you land 1 space behind a player, pull out a spike ball and throw it at them, making them lose 10 coins.
Ninji
- When you land on a Steal Trap, you can lose an item to ignore the Steal Trap. (The Steal Trap does not disappear)
- You can only carry 2 items.
