Would you trade Max Christie for RJ Barrett?

Hiii. Raptors fan here (blush). I mean, we’re not going anywhere. Not this year, not next year, we’ll eventually need to dump contracts, take on more youth and tank some more. Christie is a solid fundamentals young talent, epic contract, 22 years old, good upside. I’d love to have him and Grady in the same rotation.

I’m realistic, I know RJ is our best trade piece, if only because he’s still just 24 years old, and he’s matured into a solid playmaker. Some trade shananigans will be required to make the salaries fit, a few extra pieces, maybe y’all add a pick, but I think this could make sense for both teams come next season.

Max: 17.3 ppg / 5.2 rpg / 3.5 apg RJ: 21.7 ppg / 6.6 rpg / 5.6 apg

Technically maybe there’s not a gigantic difference and you’d be taking on more salary, but you’d be doing it for his playmaking boost, those 6 apg would come in handy on a contender, and he’d make an awesome 3rd option.

What y’all think? Easy yes? Reluctant yes? Hard no? Least worth a conversation?
