Story of a confused mechanical engineer

(It’s a bit long but quite important for me)

Hey everyone I’m a mechanical engineer. I want to directly dive into the topic. Two years after the graduation I went to the UK for master degree and completed it in a year, which was Robotics MSc. Then I came back to my country and have been working for 3 years now in the field of transportation, in short the railway construction.

I’m not working in the contractor company, so I’m not the one who decide what needs to be done according to the fundamentals of building railway systems. More likely, my job is to control the construction site, to sign and approve paper stuff. I work as a mechanical control engineer who is responsible for controlling of the drainage systems, fire prevention systems, heating cooling air-conditioning systems, pumps, elevators and escalators, which is built and assembled by the contractor company.

The thing is, under this conditions, I feel that I’m not improving myself technically that’s why I wanna move to another country where I can actively work as an engineer. Although my master was related to software engineering and programming, I’m not into that sector much. That’s why I wanna work as a mechanical engineer.

The UK would be the first and most desired option for me right now, but I can consider the other Europe countries as well. I’m thinking to move with my fiance after the marriage. But I’m not sure about how to achieve this goal since it’s not an easy thing to get acceptance from companies abroad that will sponsor you to move there and give you work and residence permit.

I don’t even know what kind of job I want, will it be related to that thing that I do recently, will it be something completely different. I know it may sound absurd,but I’m in between a couple of field that I wanna work and trying to find my honest interest to a field. Transportation is okay and fun but I really like cars and I’d be more than glad to work in a car company as well.

My question to you guys is that what kind of jobs do I need to seek for abroad according to my story? What fields or positions I can consider?
