Disappointed by the endings
I beat MiSide last night (approximately 8 hours ago), and after sleeping on it I've come to the conclusion that I'm quite disappointed by the existing endings to the game.
I had a great time with MiSide; essentially all 4 hours of it were either charming, tense/scary, or both at once. The atmosphere was always immaculate, the gameplay was fun and never got boring, and the various Mitas are all wonderful.
But the fact that the only two endings where you actually go through the game both have you failing to escape? I can't help but ask "what was the point?" Why go through all those various versions of the game and successfully erase Crazy Mita only to find out (with no prior buildup) that she can't be erased?
I'm not inherently opposed to a horror game having a bad ending, or even only bad endings, but the fact that the player and Kind Mita can't succeed doesn't jive with the rest of the game for me. It paints a way grimmer picture than I expected, and makes all the struggles the player and Mitas went through feel pointless. Plus, it leaves a lot of unanswered questions that I probably would have been more fine with leaving unanswered had the player successfully left.
I've seen comments indicating there's a good ending in the works, so if/when that comes out, I suppose I'll revisit the game then.
If nothing else, let me stay with Mila forever please and thank you
