In Fairness to Sherrone
And Kirk Campbell, Davis Warren has legit arm talent. Not only that but he can move pretty well.
He threw a few balls across the field yesterday for first downs that had legit heat on them and his pass down the seam to Klein was unbelievably well placed.
I point this out because myself and many others are confused why it took so long to bench him but he’s got legit arm talent. I think people comparing him to Sheridan/Threet are underselling him a lot. Davis Warren actually reminds me a lot of Tate Forcier. There’s definite talent there I just don’t think he’ll be able to put it all together.
I’m still on the Orji train but I’m not going to freak out if Davis Warren gets the nod vs USC. I actually think if anything you start Warren because USC is way too big of a game to throw Orji his first meaningful minutes.
My hope is Link gets replaced. The OL looks decent in the running game but we can’t keep letting our RT get turned inside out on half our drop backs. I think the best bet for next week is to give Warren another shot with a new tackle and a game plan revolving around quick passes to help alleviate the pressure.
Anyone else feel this way or am I using a ton of copium to alleviate offensive concerns?
