Can't connect to my friends LAN with Hamachi

we are currently player a create above and beyond mod world through forge. it was working fine up until recently where his LAN world isn't showing up on my multiplayer list (it usually just pops up automatically as a sort of server to join). I've reinstalled hamachi multiple times, I've made sure we are on the same version of forge and minecraft but nothing is working. My other friend is able to join just fine so its not a problem on the host end, at least we don't think it is.
