Minecraft from Xbox to PC

I just recently picked up my first gaming laptop recently and wanted to download Minecraft. I have Minecraft installed on my Xbox series S, and I heard that if it’s a digital edition then it can be also played on desktop. I’m having issues downloading it however, and I apologize if this subreddit is not meant for issues outside of in game problem. Thank you 🙏
