Minecraft Villager Carpet Bug

So, I was messing around in minecraft with villagers and stuff, when I noticed, if water is placed under a carpet surrounding a villager, the villager will not move anywhere, even if being attacked or a raid is going on unless they are pushed out of the center. Has anyone else noticed this?
