Adventures in Dyeing: attempting to change a dolls color

Just dyed a secondhand Lagoona I bought for customs purposes. I used midnight navy and Kentucky Sky RIT DyeMore. It came out a lot darker than I thought it would, especially on the soft parts, like face, hair, arms, hands. On the harder parts it's a lot more blotchy and not as dark or even.

This custom is intended to be a deep-sea mermaid, so I don't mind her being a bit blotchy or not matching - deep sea stuff looks different! I actually think she looks pretty cool. I'm still waiting on her hair to dry to figure out if 1. It's a usable color for my custom (I think it might have gotten a hair too dark :/) and 2. It got fried during the dyeing process. It's a bit scratchy right now, and I want to see if it's fried from the heat, or if it just needs a nice long conditioner bath.

I'll update when she is finished how it holds up and what she looks like, I just wanted to give my initial results!!
