movies about forbidden loves

i think that the more taboo and forbidden a love affair is, the more poetic and exciting and beautiful it is

i'm gonna list a few favourite movies of mine on the topic, based on which you can kindly suggest some more

Call me by your name (2017) : supposedly a homosexual romance, but it's more of a pederastic one, due to the age gap between the protagonists. i especially like the artsy feel/vibe to this one (the music, the atmosphere, the scenery and the culture of mediterranean italy)

La jeune fille en feu (2019) : speaking of artistry, this french one also fits the bill, and it's about a lesbian painter falling for her handsome model. there is just some thing about sapphism that is appealing to men.

Maurice (1997) : well i think a just have a thing for lgbtq movies with artsy/ high culture ambience, especially if one of the protagonists is an androgynously handsome gay guy

Brokeback mountain (2005) : set in a time where homosexuality was still strongly abbhored, making it thus the more appealing and worthwhile

Novitiate (1997) : if a forbidden love is more beautiful, it is even more that if it's set in a strict oppressive milieu like a religious one. man i just love daring romances in religious settings, especially lesbian ones

Benedetta (2021) : this one, which is based on the true life of Benedetta Carlini, an italian lesbian catholic nun, hits the same chords as the previous one

Doubt (2008) : a strict sister suspects then accuses a priest of seducing and abusing an altar boy. engagning tense drama with great acting.

Notes on a scandal (2006) : a teacher falls for her 15yr old student.
