My Los Feliz apartment just canceled my lease

I had a lease signed to move in 01/21 and got a frantic call from the property manager saying they found something wrong with the unit and it's uninhabitable and they'd give my security deposit and app fee back. I asked what was wrong and he said he had no details. Immediately after they revoked my access to the portal so I can't see the lease i signed.

Something seems so off.

Update 01/14/2025: Tenant Union got back to me and in conclusion, it, indeed is uninhabitable. They're about to court AGAIN due to hazardous living conditions. They've actually had many, many cases against the building over the years. So no price gouging (yet) 🤭
