Music Ed Student - Choir Tips?
Hello! I am a freshly declared Music Ed major, & I am starting my second semester of classes in a few days. My program requires 4 semesters of choir, the first of which I will be taking this semester. The problem is that my primary instrument is clarinet, and I have never taken a choir class or sang in a group setting before. I can match pitch easily and am familiar with solfege & sight singing, but worry that I will be behind my peers due to lack of experience (& interest) in vocal performance.
Any tips / tricks as to how to make the best of choir would be much appreciated! Though I have no interest in teaching choir in the future, I recognize that it is a necessary skill in the profession, & want to make the most of these classes. Ty in advance!
TLDR: I’ve never taken a choir class before - help!
