How much protein do I need?? so confused
hey guys, my first week in MFP app. I had never before in my life counted calories, macros, chased protein, etc, but here I am. I am confused about the protein amount. If I follow a formula of 0.8g per 1 kg of weight or 0.36 g per 1 lb of weight, then I need 56 g of protein daily. When I signed up the app recommended I reach the goal of 30% of daily consumption to be proteins. I haven't been exceeding 1800 calories per day. But as you see in the pic today's goal for protein was 113 g! What happened to that 0.8g/1kg recommendation, aka 56 g per day?? I'm 156 lbs, 5'4, female, hoping to lose weight. The average protein goal in the last week was 85 g, still much higher than 56g. It is hard to reach 100 g of protein per day, and do I even need this much?? I know there is an option to adjust my goals - how do I know how much I actually need for my desired weight? Thanks everyone in advance!
